Planting an idea in the minds of people that it is not necessary to do a “job” to earn a living is what Svavalambi Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) is all about – CEO of Sevavardhini – Shri Pramod Kulkarni.
The Solapur centre for guidance about self-employment under the Svavalambi Bharat Abhiyan was inaugurated on 2nd September 2022. Prominent guests included Shri Sanjeev Patil (Managing Director of Laxmi Drucken Komponents), Shri Santosh Kolte (Senior Manager of District Industries Centre), Shri Varadraj Bang (President of Solapur Janta Bank), Shri Rajesh Patwardhan (Director of Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, Pune), Shri Vinayak Bankapur (Coordinator of SBA), Shri Rajendra Katve (Shahar Sangh Chalak, RSS Solapur) and Shri Pramod Kulkarni (CEO, Sevavardhini).
First generation entrepreneurs were felicitated on this occasion. This included Samir Inamdar (Printing business), Kavita Pawar (Tailoring), Vinod Magji (Bakery), Sanjeev Katve (auto parts), Chandrakant Kanhi (Agarbatti), Dipali Tarate (Vegetable vending and restaurant), etc.
Our education system (still largely based on the Macualay model) is designed towards creating clerks for working in monotonous jobs to serve the British Empire. The mindset therefore is only towards looking for employment. This needs to change, if the true potential of the youth of the country is to be unleashed.
Through the centre, we aim to provide guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs, connect them to all the facilities and schemes offered by the government, and connect them to funding agencies.
About 200 people attended the event. To know more about the Svavalambi Bharat Abhiyan and to support us in supporting the budding entrepreneurs, please contact us.
